Offer financing

Let customers pay larger invoices and deposits over time with Affirm or Klarna, while you're paid in full right away.

Financing lets customers pay bigger orders in installments with Affirm or Klarna. The lender approves the customer at checkout and carries the plan and the risk; you're paid the full amount (less the fee) like a card payment. You need online payments set up first. Owners and admins can turn it on.

Turn it on

Open the payment settings

Open Settings → Payments and go to Pay over time.

Switch on Offer financing

Turn on Offer financing, then Affirm, Klarna or both.

Set the minimum

Under Offer it from, enter the smallest bill to offer it on ($500 to start). Bills under this amount show only card and bank.

Wait for Stripe's review

Stripe reviews each method for your account, usually within a day. Each shows Not requested, Stripe is reviewing, Approved or Not available. Customers see a method only once it reads Approved; click Refresh status to check.

Where customers see it

  • Invoices: Pay with Affirm or Pay with Klarna under the card buttons, with "Or pay over time, from about $X/mo".
  • Quote deposits: the same choice on Pay deposit.
  • Quotes: each option's total shows "or about $X/mo with financing".

"About $X/mo" is the amount spread over 12 months, rounded up. It always says it's subject to approval and that the lender sets the plan and rate.

Each lender has its own limits: Affirm from $50 to $30,000, Klarna from $35 to $10,000.

Turn it off for one invoice or quote

On an invoice (until it's paid) or a quote (while you can still edit it), use the Offer financing card to turn financing off for that one.
