Invoices & payments

Take a card payment over the phone

Charge a customer's card yourself on Stripe's secure page when they call to pay an invoice.

When a customer calls to pay, you can type their card into Stripe's secure page from the invoice. The payment is recorded on the invoice as yours, exactly like an online payment. Owners, admins and staff can do it, once online payments are set up.

Open the invoice

In the menu, click Invoices and open it. The invoice must be sent; customers can't pay a draft.

Click Charge card

In the Online payment card, click Charge card. Stripe's secure checkout opens.

Enter the card

Type the card details the customer reads out, and pay.

Check the result

You come back to the invoice. It says the payment was received, is processing, or didn't go through. If you cancelled, nothing was charged.

Charge card takes money from the customer's card. Confirm the amount with them first.

Click Copy payment link in the same card and text or email it to the customer, so they pay themselves.

Payments taken elsewhere

If you took the payment on your own card terminal or another app, don't charge it again here: record the payment instead.
