Messaging & email

Design an email

Give any email its own design with images, buttons, columns and backgrounds in the email designer.

All planscampaign emails need Grow

An email without its own design uses your email theme with its text. When you want more (a photo of your work, a big button, two columns), give it its own design. Owners and admins can design emails.

Open the designer

Go to Settings → Messaging → Email designs. Emails are grouped into Invoices, quotes, receipts and bookings, Automations and Marketing. Click Customize on an email (or Edit design if it already has one).

You can also click Design email on a template, or Design the email on a campaign.

Add and arrange blocks

Click Add a block, or drag one in from the left. Click a block to change it in the panel on the right.

BlockUse it for
HeaderYour logo and header from the theme
HeadingA title
TextWords with bold, italic, links and merge fields
ImageA photo or graphic, with a link
ButtonA button to a page or a customer link
DividerA line between parts
SpacerEmpty space
ColumnsTwo or three columns side by side
Social linksYour social links
MessageThe template's or campaign's text
SummaryThe invoice, quote or payment details with their link
FooterYour address and unsubscribe link

Each block can have its own background and spacing. Hover a block to move, duplicate or delete it.

Some blocks are always in an email: invoices keep their pay link, quotes their approve link, receipts the payment details, and every email its footer. You can move and restyle them, not remove them.

Preview and test

Switch between Edit, Desktop preview and Phone preview. Click Send a test to email it to yourself with sample details, marked [Test]. No customer gets it.

Save

Click Save. The next emails use the design. Reset to default goes back to the theme with the text, and deletes your blocks.

Design with AI

Click Design with AI and describe the look you want, for example "summer promo, bold, with a coupon button". The draft uses only your own images, links and details, never prices or offers you didn't give. Apply it, then save. Uses AI credits.

A campaign's design can't change once the campaign has started sending.
