Custom fields

Add your own fields to customers, addresses, quotes and invoices, choose which ones customers see, and protect sensitive values.

Custom fields hold the extra details your shop keeps that SKUFlow doesn't have a box for: a team colour on a customer, a school district number on an address, a PO number on a quote or invoice. Owners and admins set them up; everyone fills them in on the forms.

Add a field

Open custom fields

Open Settings → Custom fields and pick the tab for the record: Customers, Addresses, Quotes or Invoices.

Click the add button

For example Add customer field or Add invoice field.

Name it and choose the type

Enter the Label and choose the Type of answer: Short text, Long text, Number, Date, Yes / no, Pick one from a list, Pick several from a list, Web address, Email or Phone number. For a list, add each choice with Add choice. The type can't be changed after the field is created.

Set the options

  • Required: forms can't be saved without an answer.
  • Show to the customer: for quote and invoice fields, the value is printed on the document, its emails and the customer's pages. For customer fields, it shows in the customer portal.
  • Sensitive: for private values such as account numbers or door codes (see below).

Save

The field appears on the form and the page of that record type.

Sensitive fields

Use Sensitive for gate, alarm or lockbox codes, account numbers and private notes. Members see a sensitive value as ••••. Owners, admins and staff may read it; where it's hidden, Reveal shows it, and revealing it is recorded in the activity log. A sensitive field is never shown to customers and never goes into emails, exports, webhooks or SKUFlow AI.

Show to the customer puts the value on documents and pages customers see. Don't turn it on for anything private.

Reorder, archive or delete a field

  • Use the move up and move down buttons to change the order on forms.
  • Archive takes a field off the forms but keeps the values already saved. Restore brings it back.
  • Delete a field only if you no longer need its values.
