Team & permissions

Roles and permissions

What owners, admins, staff and members can see and do in SKUFlow, from quoting and recording payments to refunds, costs and settings.

Everyone in your business has one of four roles. The roles are fixed, so you choose what someone can do by choosing their role. A role applies in one business: someone in two businesses can be an owner in one and staff in the other.

RoleIn short
OwnerEverything, including billing and deleting the business.
AdminEverything except billing ownership and deleting the business.
StaffRuns the day. No refunds, settings, supplier credentials or team changes, and no costs.
MemberRead-only: sees the work, but not payments, settings or the activity log.

Rules about owners

  • Only an owner can make someone an owner, invite an owner, or change or remove an owner.
  • Nobody can change their own role or remove themselves (use Leave instead).
  • A business always keeps at least one owner. The last owner must make someone else an owner before leaving.

What people without a permission see

Buttons for things your role can't do are hidden (for deleting) or shown greyed out with the reason (for money and sending). If you try anyway, SKUFlow names your role and says to ask an owner or admin, for example "Your role (Member) can’t do this. Ask an owner or admin."

Role changes apply within a minute. API keys and AI assistants that act for a person can never do more than that person's current role allows. See Developers.
