Place artwork on a product
Add print locations to a design, choose the decoration method and position, size and rotate the artwork.
A placement is one print location on the product: front, back, left chest, sleeve. Each has its own decoration method, print size and artwork. The price updates as you go.
Add a placement
Choose a location
In the design editor, under Placements, open Add a location, pick one of the product's locations from Choose a location, and click Add.
The locations come from the product's decoration areas. See Product pictures and decoration areas.
Choose the method
Pick the Decoration method: screen print, embroidery, DTF, and so on. Only the methods you offer in Settings → Decoration are listed.
Enter what the price depends on
Depending on the method:
- Ink colours for screen print, pad print and vinyl.
- Stitch count for embroidery.
- Print size band for DTF, DTG and sublimation, or From the print size to let SKUFlow pick the smallest band the print fits.
- Print width (in) and Print height (in): the size of the print. The location shows its largest size, such as "This location prints up to 12 × 14 in."
Set the options
Turn on the options that apply:
- White underbase: Automatic (dark colours), On or Off.
- 3D puff for embroidery.
- Already digitized to skip the digitizing fee.
- Art service (redraw, clean-up) to add your art fee.
- Setup already paid (reorder) to leave off set-up fees.
Add the artwork
Open the picker
On the placement, click Add artwork.
Pick or upload a file
Under Library, choose from the customer's art and your own, then click Add to placement. Or open Upload and drop a new file (PNG, JPG, SVG or PDF up to 10 MB).
Position it
On the product picture:
- Drag the blue print area to line it up on the garment. It snaps to the center line, and its artwork moves with it. Drag its corner to resize it, or use the arrow keys to nudge it.
- Drag the artwork to move it, and its corner to resize it. Hold Shift to stretch.
- Drag the round handle to rotate. Hold Shift to snap.
For exact numbers, type Left %, Top %, Width %, Height % and Rotation °.
Check it and save
Switch View (front, back, side) and Colour to see every side. Each placement shows print warnings for its art, or Ready to print at this size. Click Save.
A placement can hold several pieces of art. Use Bring forward and Send back to stack them, and Remove artwork to take one off. Remove placement deletes the whole location.
The print checks use the size you place the art at. If you see a low-resolution warning, make the print smaller or ask the customer for a vector file. See Check artwork for printing.
