Business units
Business units on requests, quotes and invoices
Which unit a request, quote, invoice or campaign gets, how to change it, and how to filter lists and reports by unit.
Once you have units, requests, quotes, invoices and campaigns belong to one. Their forms show a Business unit field.
Which unit a record gets
Leave Business unit on Automatic and the record takes the unit of the one it came from:
| Record | On Automatic |
|---|---|
| Request | No unit, until you choose one |
| Quote | The unit of the request it came from |
| Invoice | The unit of the quote it came from |
| Campaign | None: you choose it. It's for reporting and doesn't narrow who gets it. |
Choose a unit, or No unit, to set it yourself. A retired unit can't be chosen for new work.
Change a record's unit
Open the request, quote or invoice and change Business unit. On an invoice, the unit's branding shows on the invoice and its accounting mapping applies from then on.

Filter by unit
- The requests, quotes, invoices and campaigns lists have a Business unit filter: All units, one unit, or No unit.
- The revenue and AR aging reports have the same filter, and revenue has a By business unit table. See Revenue.
