Shipping

Ship from ShipStation

Send your orders and store orders to your own ShipStation account and get the shipments you make there back in SKUFlow.

If you already ship from ShipStation (your own carrier accounts, automation rules, batch label printing), connect it. SKUFlow sends ShipStation your orders. When you ship one there, the shipment comes back to SKUFlow: the order shows as shipped and your customer gets the "Order shipped" email if you use that automation.

Owners and admins can connect ShipStation and choose what goes there. Anyone who can see orders sees whether an order went to ShipStation.

Get your ShipStation API key

In ShipStation, open Settings → Account → API Settings and copy the API Key and API Secret. Your ShipStation plan needs to include API access.

Connect it in SKUFlow

Open Settings → Shipping. Under Shipping software, paste the API key and secret and click Connect ShipStation. SKUFlow checks them with ShipStation, keeps them encrypted and never shows them again. It also sets up ShipStation's notifications so shipments come back right away. If those can't be set up, SKUFlow checks ShipStation every 15 minutes instead.

Choose what goes to ShipStation

  • Send store orders: orders from your online stores, either as soon as they are paid or approved or when the store's batch is ready to ship. Turn on only some stores, or none for every store. Each store can also be switched on or off, with its own timing, from the store's Settings tab (or the Selling step when you create it): it's the same setting.
  • Send production orders: your orders (ORD-n) that are shipped, either as soon as the order is made or when production marks it ready to ship.
  • Include the customer's email: ShipStation's own shipping emails use it. Turn it off if SKUFlow sends those emails.
  • File orders under this ShipStation store: shown when your ShipStation account has more than one store.

Ship in ShipStation

Orders appear in ShipStation's Awaiting Shipment list with the ship-to address, items (SKU, color, size, decoration, names and numbers), weights, and totals. An item whose product has no weight gets the default for its kind (Settings → Shipping → Live rates and weights). When the shopper chose a carrier service at checkout, it shows as the requested service. Create labels there as usual. Each shipment comes back to the order's Shipments panel, marked ShipStation, with its carrier and tracking number.

Orders delivered to the organization

Store orders that go to the organization in one delivery (Deliver to the organization) are not sent one by one. When the store's batch order is ready to ship, SKUFlow sends ShipStation one order: the batch, to the address on the store's delivery option (or the store customer's address), with everyone's items together. Personalised items stay apart, each marked with whose it is. When that order ships, every one of those store orders is marked fulfilled.

Orders shipped to each person still go one by one, and pickups never go.

Live rates from ShipStation

Stores can quote your ShipStation carriers' rates at checkout. See Offer live shipping rates.

On the order

The Shipments panel shows where the order is in ShipStation: waiting to go, sent, shipped, or what went wrong. Send to ShipStation sends it now (again if it's already there). That updates the same order in ShipStation, never a second copy. Use it after you fix an address, or for an order your settings don't send.

An order that is cancelled in SKUFlow is cancelled in ShipStation too. A label you void in ShipStation is voided in SKUFlow, and the order waits in ShipStation again. If the order isn't going out after all, move it back by hand.

Labels in SKUFlow and in ShipStation

You can use both. For an order that's already in ShipStation, Create label asks first. If you buy the label in SKUFlow, ShipStation is told the order shipped so nobody ships it twice. Labels made in ShipStation are paid for on your ShipStation and carrier accounts. SKUFlow never bills them.

Resync and disconnect

Resync now sends anything waiting, retries orders that failed, and reads ShipStation's recent shipments. Disconnect removes SKUFlow's notifications from ShipStation and forgets the key. Orders already in ShipStation stay there.
