Sales tax

Import a rate table

Load sales tax rates for every ZIP code from Avalara's free rate tables or your own spreadsheet.

In states where the rate changes from one ZIP code to the next, import a rate table instead of typing rules. Owners and admins can import.

What you can import

Avalara publishes free sales tax rate tables, one CSV per state. Download the state's file and import it as is. Each ZIP code becomes a Combined rate rule with the ZIP code's combined rate.

A file can have up to 50,000 rows.

Import it

Open the import

Go to Settings → Taxes and click Import rates.

Choose the file

Under CSV file, choose the file. SKUFlow reads it and shows how many rules it found, and any rows it couldn't read, with their row number. Nothing is saved yet.

Import

Check the preview and click Import with the number of rules.

Update a table when rates change

Import the new file with the same file name. The rules imported before from that file are replaced (the dialog tells you how many). Rules you added by hand are never touched.

Remove an imported table

Under Imported rate tables, find the file and click Delete. Its rules are deleted; quotes and invoices already taxed keep their tax.

Deleting an imported table can't be undone. Import the file again to bring its rules back.
